TikTok has many adverse effects on our health, not only our brain. The term “Tiktok brain’’ has many harmful and embarrassing effects. Students and youngsters are more prone to this addiction and spend hours and hours on TikTok without noticing the time. Tiktok may affect the hormone dopamine, which mimics the effects of drugs.

How can you allow your children to watch TikTok freely, even if it is killing the brain of your child? The excessive use of this social media platform can cause multiple mental health issues. The significant issues are anxiety, depression, distraction, spreading of misinformation, addiction, and short attention span. TikTok users who watched personalized videos rather than random videos have activated brain cells involved in continuing viewing habits and addiction.

TikTok is the worst social media app to destroy your brain. Many negative aspects are associated with this platform than all the other platforms. I am discussing two significant TikTok’s bad effects. Let’s dig deeper to take a look.

  • Increased Anxiety and Depression

People who use TikTok regularly have higher chances of stress, depression, anxiety, and reduced attention and memory loss than those who use this app frequently. You can easily distracted from more important responsibilities and tasks.

  • Negative Impacts

Constant scrolling can cause several adverse effects, like poor performance, disrupted sleep, social isolation, neglected hygiene, and family conflict. This app may damage your cognitive power due to embarrassing content, negative comments, or cyberbullying.

Final Thoughts

The most significant adverse effect of TikTok is that we started to compare ourselves to others. As a result, we faced low self-esteem, decreased physical activity, and Poor body posture.

We have seen many people who spend an extended period on TikTok screens have mental health symptoms and poor daily activities. You need to customize the app or restrict the laptop access to limit inappropriate content access.
